Get To Know Us

We are a grateful family of ordinary people who love God and others; living out our humbled and transformed lives by the belief that our lives are not about us, but all about Jesus Christ. We strive to share our Christ-transformed lives with others by empowering the poor, strengthening the weak, embracing the outcast and seeking the lost.

Loving people into a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Ashton grew up with the most wonderfully dramatic family on earth which has served to teach him a lifetime of lessons on grace. In college he met his best friend in the world and on July 31, he married her. Ashton and Amber have been married fifteen blissful years. At the end of year five, they welcomed their first addition to the family, Ella Joy. At the end of year seven, they welcomed their second bundle of joy, Liana Grace to the mix. And in April 2015 their newest addition, Judson Thomas, joined the Stewart clan. Ashton graduated from Central Christian College of the Bible in 2006 with a Bachelor’s Degree in General Ministry. In addition to his Bible College education, he’s attended Indiana Wesleyan University to study business administration and Lincoln Christian University to study Greek and Theology. Elders are men who are nominated by the church members and serve as the overseers of the ministry of the church body for a two-year term. The qualifications (traits) of an Elder are scripturally specified in 1 Timothy 3:1-13 and Titus 1:5-9.

Deacons are men who are also nominated by the church members and serve a two-year term. They serve specifically alongside the Elders on the church board and assist in discussing, evaluating, and making decisions for the ministry of the church. The qualifications (traits) of a Deacon are scripturally specified in 1 Timothy 3:1-13 and Titus 1:5-9.

The Deaconesses are women nominated by the church members to serve a two-year term.  Their primary role is to prepare communion for the weekly worship service, and special services scheduled (Maundy Thursday, Christmas Eve, etc …). They also serve on one of the Ministry Teams or are active in serving in another capacity.  (Romans 16:1)

Ministry Teams

Much of the ministry endeavors of Cayuga Christian happen through the involvement of our Ministry Teams. Each team has a unique ministry focus and is made up of individuals who are committed to working together to improve the specified ministry of that team. Every church member is encouraged to participate at some level with a ministry team.
