Even Though I Walk
By: Ashton Stewart
Series: Psalm 23
"Some of you are walking through some valleys right now. Maybe you just found yourself in one because of financial difficulties or a relationship problem with your spouse. Maybe you’ve been in that valley for a while. Maybe you know someone who is struggling in their own personal valley right now and you are at a lost for how you can help. Whatever the situation is for you, let me encourage you to trust the message that David wants you to hear this morning: Even in your deepest valleys, your darkest days...God is there.” ~ Ashton Stewart

Our lives were created for even greater things than your family, your career, or even your wildest dreams and ambitions. We live to make God FAMOUS."Psalm 23:3Colossians 1:16

Jun 18, 2017The Work of ExpressionBy: Ashton StewartSeries: Gritty FaithWe’re in the midst of a sermon series in the book of James that we’re calling “Gritty Faith,” James is a book of the Bible that’s very practical and it teaches us the hard work of the Christian faith. James chapter 3 takes us into “The Work of Expression," the hard work of controlling our tongues. Because WORDS HAVE POWER!The hard work of expression means that we may have to first break some of our bad habits and submit to the Lordship of Jesus what we use our words for.
- Jun 11, 2017The Work of Fellowship
Jun 11, 2017The Work of FellowshipBy: Ashton StewartSeries: Gritty FaithFellowship is Driven By Love. James 2:1 says, "My brothers, as believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ, don’t show favoritism." Real, authentic, loving fellowship takes work. It’s hard work to get along with people who are not like you. The people of the early church were a lot like us and they struggled with committing every part of their lives to Jesus. They were preoccupied with the trials they faced that they neglected some of the important parts of their faith. And many of them were hanging onto some of the attitudes that they had before they became Christians. We’ve probably been guilty of that too. James calls out this Christian hypocrisy in his letter with a bold command — Don’t show favoritism. Literally, don’t be partial. James is warning followers of Jesus not to base our treatment of someone or our attitude toward someone on our differences. Instead, love must create unity because of our common faith in Jesus. We should not be partial because God is not partial. Romans 2:11 says, "For God does not show favoritism.”
- Jun 4, 2017The Work of Faithfulness
Jun 4, 2017The Work of FaithfulnessBy: Ashton StewartSeries: Gritty FaithThis is the work of faithfulness: That you not quit on God because life gets hard, but that you draw nearer to Him because life is hard. And in the end, you’ll be blessed; not because you were perfect, but because you’ve been faithful. James 1:12 gives us this promise, "Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.” This is a reward that we cannot afford to give up on.
