"I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."

    Gospel Unity
    Series: Galatians
"So let’s commit to looking for the Gospel and we’ll discover opportunities to unify.  I’ll be the first to admit that it’s not always easy to do … sometimes it takes work.  I’ll even confess that I’ve missed it until a fellow Christian reminds me.  I believe that unity is impossible to get right alone — I believe it takes a Church committed to the Gospel to maintain unity."

    The Unique Gospel
    Series: Galatians
As we enter our summer-long study of the New Testament book of Galatians, Ashton explores what it is that is so compelling about the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

"Anyone who thinks that Jesus + anything = salvation is distorting the message of the Gospel and are rejecting the authority of Jesus...This is the point of Paul's letter to the Galatians...Christians must embrace God's grace as a free gift. We cannot be loved by God any more or less that we are already loved. Salvation is not earned. It is given to us and we accept it because of Jesus."

    So Find Purpose In It
"If you’re in the midst of your adult years … maybe you’ve just graduated from college or your not quite yet ready to retire (and everyone in between) … take a honest assessment of your life. Realize the brevity of life — that life is but a mist — and be honest enough to admit that every pursuit in life is vain if it’s not focused upon God. Paul writes in Colossians 3:17, 'And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.' ~ Ashton Stewart

As we celebrated Mother's Day all together in 1-unified service at the Youth Center, Ashton shared insights surrounding the faith dynamics during the adolescence phase.

"As a church family, we have to make it our priority to surround our young people during this crucial phase and lovingly encourage our students when they have questions and point them toward the only one who can handle our doubts. Jesus can handle our doubts, don't you think?" ~ Ashton Stewart

    Don’t Miss It
James 4:13-14 — 13 Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” 14 Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.
Each moment is a gift. The next is not promised to you. Life moves at such a rapid pace that if we’re not careful, we’ll miss it. Don’t blink. James said life is a mist that appears for a moment and then vanished. ~ Ashton Stewart

    Not Guilt, But Grace
When we do not receive what we deserve and when we receive a gift that we do not deserve, it ought to change who we are and it ought to change how we live. The Bible in Romans 2:4 says that “God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance.” ~Ashton Stewart

For Our Good and God’s Glory
None of the moments in our life are ever wasted. God's plan sometimes includes our suffering and pain. When we look at the life of Joseph in the book of Genesis, we see that whether he was the prince or in a pit, God was present. And the same is true for us in every moment we go through.

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”  Romans 8:28

"I have the best news ever for you! Hear me out! God loves you! He loves you! God loves you right where you are! He loves you just like he loved those shepherds!  And you are special to Him. Just like the shepherds were special to Him, so special He gave them the incredible privilege of being the first to hear of Christ’s birth. He gave them, the first people besides Mary and Joseph to ever set eyes on the Son of God...

So what do we do with this message that GOD LOVES YOU? I hope it's good news for you and I hope it's such good news that it does what the “angel of the Lord” said it would do for the shepherds. Remember what he said? He said, “I bring you good news that causes great joy!" ~ Ashton Stewart

When I came to you, I did not come with eloquence or human wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. 2 For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. 3 I came to you in weakness with great fear and trembling. 4 My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, 5 so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power.

God will use His people to encourage His people to step into ministry.

Acts 9:17-20 17 Then Ananias went to the house and entered it. Placing his hands on Saul, he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord—Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here—has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.” 18 Immediately, something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes, and he could see again. He got up and was baptized, 19 and after taking some food, he regained his strength. Saul spent several days with the disciples in Damascus. 20 At once he began to preach in the synagogues that Jesus is the Son of God.
